Mobile Payments via Dash in Singapore

A new mobile payment service has been launched this week in Singapore today by SingTel and Standard Chartered Bank.

The new telco and banking neutral service will enable anyone carrying an iPhone or Android device the ability to to send and receive digital cash, and make payments to merchants, regardless of his telco or banking service provider.

Dash is based on SingTel’s robust mCash service, mWallet platform. Dash does not require NFC to work.

A Dash customer can make secure payments at more than 20,000 acceptance points; at launch, Dash partners include 7-Eleven, ACE Insurance, ComfortDelGro Taxi, Food Republic, KFC, Koi Cafe, Pizza Hut, Prime Taxi, SingTel canteen and lobby cafe, SingTel Shop, SMRT Taxi, Sodexo, Spinelli, Watsons and WingTai Retail .
