Just as soon as we highlighted the Facebook Credit system for developers, the impact of this new currency is illustrated from two different sides of the coin.

Network International (NI) signifies an important move for banks or independent service providers. Yesterday, we formally announced NI as a customer offering mobile services through their POS network.

Network International is the largest merchant acquirer in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), with a network of more than 35,000 POS terminals. NI will use Telepin’s Cayman Transaction Platform to extend the reach of its current products into the recharge market.

This is significance of this is that NI represents a greater move by many others in NI’s market which will create the basis for a significant, highly interconnected network across borders. Ultimately, this will enable many NI’s to provide cross border service between each other.

Stay tuned to this space. Should be interesting to see this develop.
