Earlier this week the gala for the Connected World Forum Awards was held in Dubai. Two Telepin customers came away with top honors for their excellence in innovation and service delivery.

Etisalat mHawala was the winner in the Achievement in the Social Inclusion awards and Digicel Pacific for the Best NFC Deployment. Congratulations to both of these organizations for being recognized for their innovation.

In July Digicel Tonga launched Beep & Go, the first fully inclusive payment solution linking an NFC POS terminal to a mobile money wallet. Since launching, the service has driven a 30% increase in unique users of Digicel Mobile Money services. Telepin is the backbone of Digicel’s Mobile Money wallet platform.

Etisalat mHawala is Afganistan’s complete mobile money solution, and is the first mobile network operator in the country to offer an entire range of Mobile Financial Services. Telepin’s Cayman Transaction platform powers this service which includes central bank cooperation, banking ecosystem participation, utility merchant involvement, and salary disbursement, which enables complete mobile banking capabilities and future cross-border money transfers.
